International conference, 11-12th December 2025 at Technical University of Darmstadt co-hosted with Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz

The international conference explores new interdisciplinary research on ancient Western Greece, from the Geometric Period to the Roman Imperial era. Scholars present the latest insights into settlement, religion, politics, and environment in Akarnania, Aitolia, Epirus, and the north-western Peloponnese. Dedicated to Prof. Dr. Franziska Lang, the event highlights her pioneering contributions and sets new directions for future study.

MarbleSignatures is a digital platform designed to convey archaeometric data, archaeological evidence, and scientific methodologies related to white marble used in art and architecture across the ancient Mediterranean world.The primary objective of MarbleSignatures is to provide archaeologists, art historians, and museum curators with web-based tools for analyzing and determining the origin of marble—that is, identifying the quarry sites from which the lithic material was extracted in antiquity.

Nachdem auf dem DiKopA-Workshop im Juni 2024 Chancen und Herausforderungen digitaler Methoden des Lernens und Lehrens angeregt diskutiert und zahlreiche Best Practice-Beispiele vorgestellt wurden, liegen nun die Ergebnisse des Workshops als Sammelband vor.
